Grace Smythe Cullum

nopicture-butterfly1Mrs. Grace Smythe Cullum age 93 of Inglewood in Nashville died peacefully at her home January 2, 2015.  A native of Lawrence County, TN, she was the daughter of the late James and Lula Belle Dryden Smythe.  She retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Health and attended the Jackson Park Church of Christ.  She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-nine years, Philip Grayson Cullum Sr.; brother, Gene Smythe.

Survived by two children:  Philip Grayson (Carolyn) Cullum, Jr., Joyce (Ed) Rucker; five grandchildren:  John Cullum, Mark (Katie) Cullum, Matthew (DeAnna) Cullum, Elisa (Rob) Baughman, Paul (Michele) Rucker; ten great grandchildren:  Noah, Jack and Allie Baughman, Selah, Lauren, John Paul, and Emilee Rucker, Levi, Trey and Grayson Cullum; brother, James Smythe; sister, Doris London; close neighbor and friend, Buzz McBroom.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 5, 2015, at 11 a.m. from the Jackson Park Church of Christ, Gallatin Road, Nashville, with Jim Olive officiating.  Interment – Spring Hill Cemetery, Madison.  Visitation Monday 9 a.m. -11 a.m. at the church.  Pallbearers:  John, Mark and Matthew Cullum, Paul Rucker, Rob Baughman, Ed Rucker.

 In lieu of Flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Alive Hospice or the Wayne Reed Christian Child Care Center.
