Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth “Allie” Barnes will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation Monday 4 –8 PM and Tuesday after 11 AM at Ligon & Bobo.
Mrs. Barnes, age 89 of Lebanon passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 13, 2016, surrounded by family and friends.
Born February 25, 1927 in Davidson County, she is the daughter of the late Herschel and Myrtle Morse Haynes. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Malcolm Barnes in 2007; daughter, Jennifer (Richard) Burt; son, Michael Barnes; two grandsons, Scotty Barnes and Cody Austin; and three sisters, Dean Hickerson, Jessie McIntyre, and Ethel Slade.
She is survived by five children, Johnny Barnes, Garland Barnes, Denise Reece, Grace Barnes, and Billie (Anthony) Wickham; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and special loved ones Sue Sweatt and Billie Stockton.
