noflower-flagFuneral services for Mr. Bobby Clay Swann Sr. will be 12:00 Noon Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.  Interment with military honors will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.  Visitation Tuesday 2-8 PM and Wednesday after 9 AM at Ligon & Bobo.

Mr. Swann, age 83 passed away Monday, November 17, 2014, at University Medical Center.

Born February 28, 1931, in the Defeated Creek Community of Smith County, he is the son of the late Henry Elbert and Lovie Sadler Swann.  He was a milkman for Johnson Dairy for many years and later was a tow motor operator for Thurston Transportation.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Opal Knight and Irene Hester Glass, and two brothers, Otis Ray & Donald Gray Swann.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Carr Swann; four children, Linda (William) Womack of Lebanon; Mary (Billy Hudson) Proctor of Cottontown; Bobby Clay (Melissa) Swann Jr. of Carthage; and Lorie (George) Glidden of Gordonsville; two step children, Linda (Jim) Phillips of Lebanon and Robert (Martha) Hall of Carthage; 9 grandchildren; 1 step grandchild; 15 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
