Barbara Cowan Simpson

crop obitMs. Barbara Cowan Simpson age 77 of Lebanon died  December 12, 2015. She was the daughter of the late E. Turner Cowan and Louise Martin Cowan.  She graduated from Lebanon High School and attended Lindenwood College for Girls and Memphis State University.  She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church.  She was a retired co-owner of the former Cowan’s Dry Goods Stores in Lebanon.  She was an avid golfer and loved to play at Lebanon Golf and Country Club and Five Oaks Country Club.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Turner Cowan.

Survived by two daughters:  Terri Simpson and Toni (Steven) Paladino; two grandchildren, Sydney and Alex Paladino.

Special thanks Drs. James Peyton, William Littman and Modupe Kehinde, the caring staff of Tennessee Oncology and the Birthday Girls for their love and friendship.

The family and friends will assemble Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens for graveside services with Rev. Horace Wilkinson officiating.  Visitation Monday 3-6 p.m. at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Sherry’s Run.
