Funeral services Mrs. Elizabeth Ogeal Montgomery Carpenter will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 17, 2014, with Pastor John Hunn officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation Friday 4-8 PM and Saturday after 9 AM at Ligon & Bobo.
Mrs. Carpenter, age 88 of Lebanon passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Alive Hospice at Skyline. Born January 10, 1926, in Smith County, she is the daughter of the late Herschel and Bessie Vaughn Montgomery. She retired from Genesco and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Noel Hyde and Frank Carpenter; two brothers, Billy & Joe Montgomery; and three sisters, Leota Wrye, Christine Napier, and Erlene Hardin.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Horner and Kaye (Phillip) Allison; six grandchildren, Chris & Troy Glover, Catherine Thompson, David Lynn Horner, Sheri Tracy and Cyndi Hill; five sisters, Mabel (Richard) Stephens, Betty (Clyde) Ricketts, Wilma Jones, Sheila Edwards, and Doris (Barry) Smith; five brothers, Johnny (Wilma) Montgomery, David (Patricia) Montgomery, Neal (Cloebra) Montgomery, Grady (Clara) Montgomery, and Charles (Gail) Montgomery; brother in law, Herman Hardin; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. Pallbearers: Brian, Eric & Mike Montgomery, Scott Jones, John Edwards, and Ronnie Wrye. Special thanks to Alive Hospice, Gentiva Home Health and Dr. James Bachstein.
